OUR STORY
Sillage was born in the workshops of La Fabrique du Ski, based in Villard de Lans in the heart of the Vercors massif.
Since the creation of La Fabrique du Ski in 2014, the founders have been fine-tuning their tried-and-tested innovative process, aiming for excellence.
In 2018, the idea of creating Sillage emerges:
EXCEPTIONAL, TOP-QUALITY SKIS THAT MAKE THE MATERIALS USED IN COMPETITION ACCESSIBLE.
Two years of development were needed to achieve this feat.
Titanal®, a material designed for racing, offers a ski with excellent grip and performance, but is too rigid to be used by all skiers. We have adapted its structures to retain its performance qualities while creating skis that are accessible and safe.
THE GOAL IS TO COMBINE TITANAL WITH TECHNICAL AND NOBLE MATERIALS TO CREATE A STRONG, ELEGANT AESTHETIC THAT REFLECTS AN INNOVATIVE PROCESS FOR ASSEMBLING MATERIALS.
For the first collection, bamboo, carbon and slate meet Titanal® to sublimate Sillage skis.
Our challenge is to reinvent, innovate and take a fresh look at skiing and materials, without forgetting the most important thing of all: having the most fun on snow thanks to the exclusive behavior of our skis.
IT TOOK TWO YEARS OF R&D TO PERFECT OUR CONSTRUCTION.
12 LAYERS COEXIST, 12 MATERIALS THAT INFLUENCE EACH OTHER TO DEFINE THE RIGHT FLEX, GRIP AND REACTIVITY, MAKING A CONSTRUCTION BORROWED FROM THE RACING WORLD AVAILABLE TO ALL TYPES OF SKIERS.

Christian ALary
Founder | Engineer | Shaper
His father coached the French women's ski team in the 70s, then was in charge of instructor services and ski promotion at Rossignol.
Christian was born into the ski industry.
The first thing he knew how to draw was the Rossignol logo...
From an early age, he wanted to design skis, without knowing what being a shaper meant.
An engineer with the sole aim of working for Rossignol, he spent twenty years developing skis, managing workshops and setting up factories, creating hundreds of models for Rossignol, Ramp, Kaorigin, Lacroix skis...
He wanted to master all ski-related technologies, and when he did, he created new ones. Even though he's a ski monomaniac, he's created bindings, textiles, skates, longboards, snowboards... And more recently, masks that can be reused for life during confinement.
FRENCH MANUFACTURE
In the 70s, France was responsible for almost 70% of the world's industrial output, a source of real pride that has now unfortunately all but disappeared.
We're proud to play our part in maintaining this expertise.
La Fabrique du Ski was born of this desire in 2014, and Sillage continues this adventure by adopting a more upmarket positioning.
Producing our skis in France comes up against a number of constraints: with globalization, labor costs vary significantly from one country to another, and production lines are becoming increasingly automated.
Not to mention certain brands' communications, which perpetuate confusion: handcrafted but subcontracted, French-made but for what percentage? We are proud to announce that our products are 100% French-made, and to surround ourselves with subcontractors and partners who share these same values.
